KINETIC GARDEN

Proposal for the Kinetic Garden at Usher Park, Itasca

The Echo chair is a multifunctional, three-dimensional object whose sculpted curves and rocking motion turn a standard seat into a moving garden installation. Designed for versatility, the chair fits different postures from upright sitting to relaxed lounging, shifting its shape and position as a user moves. When multiple users engage with the chairs at the same time, these movements transform the park into an interactive landscape. This fluid motion brings people together and encourages social interaction, while the chairs together create an ever-changing, abstract composition that forms the kinetic garden.
