Sky Pavilion

This project delves into the essence of perception, offering a unique encounter with reality through the lens of the sky. Housed within a mirrored form, it invites us to witness the heavens in a new light, fragmented yet whole, as reflections converge into dynamic, ever-changing vistas. Inside, the stillness of the space becomes a canvas for the subtle dance of clouds, blurring the boundaries between the built and the natural, prompting a quiet contemplation of movement and its source. Externally, the cube performs an act of poetic camouflage, its reflective surfaces absorbing and reconfiguring the surrounding arboreal landscape. It becomes a living mosaic of the adjacent forest, an “extension of the forest” rendered in ephemeral reflections. This exterior mirroring serves as a prelude to the interior revelation. Stepping inside, the familiar act of looking up is transformed into an immersive experience. We are enveloped by the sky, brought intimately close, fostering a sense of wonder and a delightful disorientation. Here, secluded from the everyday, we are invited to truly observe, to quietly contemplate the constant unfolding of the celestial display. The project seeks to evoke seclusion, ignite curiosity, and facilitate a visceral connection – a metaphorical “touch the sky” – through the interplay of reflection and perception. It is a hybrid entity, where architecture and art converge to offer a unique and transformative encounter with the sublime.
